25 weeks today!

Time has flown by! It feels like just yesterday that I found out we were expecting a little one... and now I am already 25 weeks along. Only 15 more weeks to go. That is 15 more Sundays to get through before she is here. This pregnancy has been quite amazing! Yea I had some morning sickness in the beginning and I didn't want to eat anything but other than that the symptoms have been completely bearable.

I think my favorite thing about being pregnant is feeling her move around. That is the most enjoyable part of growing a little one. She is quite bashful though when it comes to others feeling her move. My husband gets to feel her move around at night when we spend time together watching Jeopardy, but every time someone else touches my belly she stops moving around.

The nesting mode had kicked in full swing for me. I would rather clean my whole house than sit and watch an online lecture for my classes. Her room is cleaned out finally (since it was a junk room), and her crib is set up.  Her dresser still needs to be painted, and I am trying my absolute hardest not to go buy baby stuff for her. I am having two baby showers.

One of the showers is from the girls that I used to work with when we lived in Gainesville. These girls were my best friends, and my family. Well a little bit of funny trivia... My husband and I moved from Gainesville in July  2012, we got pregnant the end of August 2012.. Well two of the other girls that I worked with got pregnant then as well. So this baby shower is to celebrate all the babies. It is going to be soooo nice to catch up with these girls again.

My other shower is being given to me by my mom and sister-in-law. This will be a HUGE shower. My husband has quite a large family :-) plus we will include all of our church family in this shower.

On a side note, there are a lot of babies that are due the first part of the year in my hometown! I know of at least seven right off the top of my head!!! It is definitely the year of the babies!

Since I haven't been writing about my pregnancy all along, here is a picture of my growing tummy!

I am no longer wearing regular jeans, even though I probably could since she stays really high, but they just aren't comfortable anymore. I love seeing my belly getting bigger as time goes on.

Well I am going to find something to do. Have a great night.

Moms RUN this Town

They say pregnant moms hit the nesting stage in the last weeks of her pregnancy. Well I have 15 weeks left before our precious little girl arrives, and my nesting mode has kicked in full swing this weekend. I have washed every piece of laundry in my house, along with all the comforters and blankets. I have vacuumed the furniture and swept all the floors. I have also started some projects for baby girl's nursery. I am wore out!!! But it is a much needed early spring cleaning for our house. I can't wait to organize the nursery with all of the tiny clothes and stuff. :-)

On another note, I was going to start my training (walking) again this weekend, but I don't think I want to walk alone around my neighborhood. I mean I think it is a relatively safe place, but I don't want to go alone. Also another dilemma I am facing is I really would like to find a nice nature walk or trail to workout on, but the closest one that I know of is about 15 miles away from my house. Not only is the drive a pain, but I don't want to go there alone either!!! Grrr! When I lived in Gainesville I had no problem going out alone during the day, because it was Urban area. We live in a rural town again (which I LOVE) but it is a pain for working out. I could drive to my parents house that is 10 miles away and walk/run on their road, but it is a boring road...

On a lighter side of that dilemma, I joined a group called Mom's RUN this town. It is for moms of all ages and skill level to share inspiration and workout together. I joined my local chapter this week, and we are just getting our feet wet.

You should check out the website. I think it will be great once we get off the ground and get some runs in. Click on the picture above to go to the website. I am hoping I can find someone local that would be interested in walking with me until baby girl gets here.

Some of the best things about momsRUNthistown.com are that it is completely FREE, and there are local chapters to help you meet other runners or walkers.

These are my own opinions of this group, I have NOT been asked to promote them.

Hopefully soon I will find a walking buddy and a good trail to workout on. Back to my nesting mode I go...

Glucose Tolerance Test :(

Yesterday I went for my glucose tolerance test. I am 24 weeks pregnant so it was the perfect time to get it done. I made an appointment for 8:15 AM since I wasn't allowed to eat very much before hand. (I was only allowed a piece of toast, which I put butter on, and water.) I got to the lab at 7:45 hoping that I would be called back a little sooner to begin the dreaded hour long wait. Well at 8 AM they gave me the little bottle of glucose to drink. It was orange flavored and right out of the fridge, so I wasn't too worried about the taste. After taking my first sip I wrinkled my nose and thought twice about chugging the whole thing. It tasted like flat orange soda, but it was thick like syrup. The taste wasn't that bad, but it was REALLY sweet! I was kind of worried that it was going to make my sick being that sweet but my body tolerated it well enough.

After about 5 minutes of drinking the whole thing, my baby girl was bouncing and kicking and moving all around inside. I have never felt her move so much! Long story short, after waiting in the waiting room for a hour I went back and got my blood drawn. That was it. I was done with the one hour test.

So today I received a call from my doctor's office. They said that I failed my glucose test. A healthy level is under 140, and mine was 146. So I literally was borderline pass/fail. But this means that I now get to take the 3 HOUR test! I am going next week for that one. This time I am not allowed to eat anything before my test, and after drinking the glucose, I have to wait three hours before I am done. 3 hours of sitting in a waiting room getting blood drawn every hour. The test is to make sure that I don't have gestational diabetes. Granted I am not dreading the actual test, I am just dreading the waiting around and sitting. My best friend is going to sit with me and keep me company, but I think it is still going to be extremely boring!

On a lighter note, my husband and I finally got to go out to dinner and enjoy each others company. We were going to catch a movie as well, but the movie theaters around here don't have late showings of the Hobbit. So we settled for Red Lobster and a early night back home. Although it is 9:00 PM now, and I am already ready for bed. The pregnancy thing is wonderful except for being tired so early in the night. But I think I will take advantage of being able to get a full 8 hours of sleep now, cause in 4 months things will be pretty different.

Well I think it is off to slumber for me we have a long day ahead tomorrow!

XOXO,
Jenna

A new princess is coming!

I did a bit of a face lift for my blog. I deleted some of the older posts, and changed the colors. I am changing the focus of my blog a little bit too, because there is going to be a new addition to my little family. My husband and I are expecting our first child this May (2013). Since becoming pregnant, running has pretty much halted but I still try to walk often. After our baby is born I am going to get back on the wagon and start back running again. But I'm sure you guessed the gender of our little one from the title, but we are having a GIRL!!!
That means lots of bows and pink!! I am very excited about our soon to be arrival!

So my pregnancy has been amazing so far! I was a little sick during the first couple weeks, but that went away and now all i suffer with is a little nerve pain. It has been wonderful!

Today I had to "suffer" through the one hour glucose tolerant test. I got my little orange bottle of sugar water and drank it down. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. It tasted a bit like flat orange soda. The hardest part about the entire test was waiting for an hour to pass. Though the glucose drink did make my baby girl jump around A LOT!!! She was all over the place.

That is my favorite part of being pregnant, feeling her move around! It is the most amazing feeling in the world up until this point in my life!

So my blog is focusing on workouts and staying healthy, AND my journey through motherhood. I's sure there will be some posts that include a bit too much information, but I will give a warning beforehand. Hopefully some of my followers can give me advice and helpful information throughout this whole process!

Please spread the word of my blog!!! Love you guys!

Oh yea P.S. it is almost 70 degrees here today in FLorida! :-)

XOXO,
Jenna
